The mission of the Educational Technology department;

To partner with ADWC stakeholders in order to implement innovative and relevant educational solutions through the effective use of technology.
EdTech

The Ed Tech department at ADWC is comprised of a team of Information System/Web Developers and faculty-based Educational Technologists.

Through a structured project management model, the Ed Tech Department collaborates with the Academic and Service department Deans, Chairs, Managers, Academic Coordinators and faculty teams to:

  • promote the pedagogical aspects of e-learning;
  • administer and promote the use of the HCT's enterprise e-learning platform, "BlackBoard VISTA";
  • assist in the instructional design, development and use of online materials for blended course delivery;
  • research and recommend technologies to support teaching and learning in the different departments;
  • provide a comprehensive professional development program to support the implementation of new technologies;
  • administer and promote the use of the HCT's enterprise collaboration system, "MS SharePoint"; and
  • provide support for online applications development of administrative and portal systems.
EdTech

ADWC recognizes the importance of quality e-learning and educational technology development and places high priority in ensuring that department and Ed Tech e-learning initiatives are aligned with the college's strategic plan. One of the key initiatives is the ADWC Blended Learning Steering Committee (BLSC), whose purpose is to develop and implement a strategic and comprehensive set of e-learning objectives and outcomes across all academic departments for faculty and students.
